Summer Bunting

Claire and I have been making bunting!  Gorgeous, glorious, summery bunting.  The photo doesn't do it justice.  I'm completely in love with these colours.  They make me happy!

The bunting was designed to hang in the classroom at Texere Yarns - the big yarn mill in Bradford where we organise the workshop programme.  We took it there this afternoon.....teetered on tall stepladders and hung it high (okay, Claire did all the teetering while I clung onto the ladders).

The room now looks so cheery, it's worth booking onto a course just to sit underneath our pretty flags.  They'll make you happy, too.  :)

The Fruits of the Moors

Okay, this post concerns, er….bird droppings. So if that seems a teeny bit distasteful to you - or you’re busy enjoying your dinner - then click away now!

The thing is this. The rocks on the moors are usually bespattered - as rocks are - with white splodges. The kind of white splodges that drop out of birds.

But in July and August, these splodges tend to fall a deep, dark purple - because the birds have been filling their little tummies with bilberries.

This year, however - since bilberries are so scarce - there’ve been very few purple splodges. Which makes the one pictured something of a rarity. Hence the photograph!

Never let it be said that I don’t know how to entertain you. J

Summer Holiday

I'm back from the land of chocolate and cheese!

Managed to take a few pictures with my wayward camera before it became totally unuseable.  Happily, it's all mended now.  :)

Summer Soft

I have a new toy to play with.....to while away the summer days.  A Lensbaby!

This magical little lens creates pictures with just one sweet spot of focus and hazy, indistinct edges.

I'm on a learning curve here.....figuring out how to bend and twist, to blur and soften.  But expect to see more gentle, dreamy images from Dixon Hill as the summer progresses.....
