Switzerland Again
Sunday, February 27, 2011 at 11:39 PM
I’ve just got back from Switzerland. Spent a lazy weekend with husband and friends in Zurich and Lucerne. Which is sort of strange…
When I began this blog some eighteen months ago, I had no idea it would turn into an intermittent travel journal. Why would I think that? I wasn’t a traveller. I was, in fact, a total homebird who never ventured anywhere if I could help it. Didn’t like going on holiday. Got homesick if I wandered more than a few miles from base.
Suddenly all that seems to have changed; and the pendulum has swung to the other extreme. Now I’m globetrotting at every opportunity. My friends no longer recognise me. I’m not sure I recognise myself. But I’m loving every minute of it. And no-one is more surprised than I am.

I kind of like seeing you on your jaunts--a very awesome chapter to embark on. Here's hoping I catch your globetrotting fever when I come to dixon hill. :)
Another great trip, judging from the gorgeous photos!
LOVE your travel-posts, Helen... and these photos from you Switzerland weekend are beautiful! We are never the same always, we think we are most time, but slowly a shift happens and we're renewing ourselves in subtle, yet powerful ways. Embrace the new travel-savvy you! And be sure to keep the photos coming... ;o) Happy Days ((HUGS))
I am so pleased you caught the travel bug Helen and are enjoying all your trips. Not only are you enjoying seeing these lovely places but we are too from the comfort of our own fireside. Not quite the same but great to see the world in your super pictures.
Travel is such a wonderful thing and the world is full of amazing places to see and experience - and I believe we should go and do it while we can - one never knows what is around the corner in our lives. I'm glad you have the travel bug. And with beautiful photos and memories such as in your mosaic, I am sure you will be travelling again as soon as possible. Enjoy.
really enjoy the mosaic of Switzerland.
I especially like the picture (effects and all) at the bottom left corner.
Beautiful shots, Helen. The fruit platter alone would inspire me to pack my bags. I love following your travels.
