The Sling: Day Two
That’s a running total, I’ll have you know. As in, I haven’t slung 82 things today. Just altogether.
I was slinging clothes this morning. This girl has waaaay too many clothes! A few fewer now, though.
So spur me on. Tell me your best reason for getting rid of stuff. Besides the daily thank you gift to a random sponsor, I’ll give a prize for the best reason I’m given for chucking things. You can leave your comment on this post or any subsequent post up until and including Friday’s.
Speaking of thank you gifts, today’s goes to Ian Baldwin. Thanks for supporting me and Jessie’s Fund, Ian!
P.S. Getting close to my target of £150. If you’d like to help me make it, click here. Thank you!

slinging = recycling
slinging = making space
slinging = peace
slinging = openness for what's next
(i have a garage sale every two years or so -- the north american version of slinging, i think!)
I am completely in awe of anyone that can sling stuff away! I'm sure this decluttering will result in you finding some lost treasures - reason enough to keep slinging!
It's so worth getting rid of stuff as, for each item slung, the weight on the mind gets less and less, until you feel you are floating ~ such a good feeling :~)
What a great thing to do Helen and I love your images on these posts.
I've been slinging lots of things around here as I am purging before moving. I realized that I have been holding on to so many things, even from 20 years ago that meant something to me then...and I was afraid to let go. What I know now that I feel great about getting rid of so much is that slinging can equal liberation, if you are ready to let go of "things" that are bogging you down!
1: everything is energy, and energy is never stagnant. (Think entropy.) Thus, the clothes (or anything else) need to circulate. (Besides, geting rid of old clothes makes room for new clothes! :) )
2: for anything that you cannot or do not use, there is someone else who can find some a perfect use for it. It's a win-win: get rid of your junk - present someone else with a treasure. (Well, may be you don't consider your clothers "junk"! )
3. the less you have, the less you have to take care of or maintain.
4. the outer reflects the inner: the less clutter you have on the outside, the more space and expansion you feel on the inside. (Well, this is a bit metaphysical...)
