Birds of a Feather

bird of a feather

I often see these birds sitting atop their little pier. And on a still day, you get double the birds for your money because their reflections line up in the reservoir below.

One of my favourite morning sights. Just wanted to share it with you.

Oh that is lovely! The curve of the wall of the bottom makes that just a spectacular photo. I love reflected images.

and a lovely morning it was. i know that spot. That is on the reservoir leading to penine ? moor where Madi and I ran Josh with you, had a lovely visit with locals and saw the bronte' books at the crosspaths, yes? what a lovely day it was for birds and ladies walking dogs with cameras in hand.

i love how you caught the sunlight articulating the edge of the wall in the bottom of the photo- great parallel rhythms throughout, not just with the line of birds and their aquatic counterparts superb composition great strength from all the vertical lines repeated: front stone highlights, bridge supports, tall windows on the building and another good heavy line with the post midway, then behind the repeated rhythm of the tree trunks, the heavier beat of the structure and post repeated in the dark foliage of the pines- also the chimneys lines carry the pattern- then the dome of the water structure and the shape of the deciduous trees on the hillside- then you nailed the composition with equal negative pace in foreground with sky above and somehow arranged for land and water to be the same relative mass and shapes- serendipity that, not photographer, but beautifully captured and framed by the artist manipulating the tool of her art- well done Miss Helen is it Tuesday yet? I'm ready for the next inspiring shot!

That takes my breath away! I want to sit right there for hours, watching the light, watching the birds, reflecting.
