More of Lisbon…
Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 9:59 PM
Lisbon is a city of mosaic pavements and tiled facades; of wrought iron balustrades and saturated colour.
We watched the sunset over the Atlantic and idled the days away in street cafes. We rode the trams and visited the pastry shops.
Mostly we wandered. Until late at night. Revelling in the cool of the evening….

Sound Idyllic
These shots are breath taking....WOW. The colors, the clarity, the natural beauty...love it!
It was! :)
Thank you, Angela. It's a beautiful city!
Wow... I think we will need to add Lisbon to our to-visit list! Love all the mosaic... it seems like a great mix of a city, "exotic" at turns, very European at others... BEAUTIFUL! :o) Happy Day, Helen ((HUGS))
Happy to hear you are having a nice time in Lisbon. :) (It is the city I was born)
I received your beautiful postcard on the 'liberate your art swap' via Kat Sloma's website and I love it! Thank you. It seems we don't live too far away neither. I live in Surrey, UK.
The continuation of a very happy Summer.
Hi Ana,
That’s so funny! That my postcard had to travel all the way to America and back just to get to you in Surrey!
What an extraordinary coincidence that you were born in Lisbon! We had a wonderful weekend there – my first time in Portugal. Would love to return (but preferably at a time of year when the weather’s a bit cooler!).
Wishing you a very happy summer...
Helen.
xx
Exactly, Tracy! You summed it up. :)
I think the mosaic pavements were my favourite thing...and we're talking ALL the pavements in the city - not just some. Gorgeous!
Hello Helen,
Thanks for your response, and very happy to hear from you also. :)
It sure is a small world for our postcards to travel and for new connections to establish themselves. Even smaller that I found you travelling in my mother tongue country.
Happy to hear that you had a good time in Lisbon, and Sintra. (The town where I grew up) Spring is always best to visit, when it is a little bit cooler.
I hope you have the continuation of a very happy summer too. :) xx
You grew up in Sintra? Lucky you! :)
