New Home!

New year, new website!

Dixon Hill has a new home on the web (we’ve moved from Wordpress to Squarespace). Which means that if you subscribe to the blog, you’ll need to RESUBSCRIBE. You can do that at the top right of this page (please do!).

The changes are mostly cosmetic right now but over the coming weeks and months there’ll be all sorts of new stuff appearing. First up will be an extra post each week. Monday Meditation is designed to start your week in a positive way. A pretty picture and juicy quotation will connect you with what matters and put you in a good place. Watch out for it from the beginning of February.

There may be one or two teething problems with the site over the next few days. But if you experience hiccups beyond that then please let me know. I’ll be glad of the tip-off.

Finally, just have to say an ENORMOUS thank you to my techy guru husband without whom none of this would have happened. I’m so grateful for an expertise I don’t possess!

Hi Helen the tech ;)

Nice to see your blog established on its new home. Well done! (Now I know which is your favorite green color!)

I have one observation about the new format.

As you know I "visit" you every one or two months. So when I first came in today, I had to find where I last left off. I did manage (by randomly clicking on different clickable page numbers at the bottom of the page.) Turned out page 4 was the "right" page for me. I wanted to read from where I left off, then go forward in time. When I was done with the page, I didn't know what page to click on next - there is no easy indication of what page I've landed myself on. I had to find my next page by trial and error. When I got to page 3, I had to mentally remember to go to page 2 after that.

I notice that it's possible to click "Next 5 entries" to go to the 5 older posts - which technically to me would be " 'Previous' 5 entries" ;) - but there is nothing to click to go forward in time.

Well, you know me. The geek has spoken. :) (I don't know that my "issue" is true for most people, but I thought I'd mention it to you.)

Hmm....don't know whether what you'd like is possible, Rosanna, but I shall look into it. :)
